Groundhog Day

2 Feb

So, did Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow? Does it really matter? Not so much. Growing up in Pennsylvania, not too far from Punxsutawney and its most famous resident, I thought it did. Every February I thought our little neck of the woods was a famous spot. After moving to Utah I realized that no one really knows where Punxsutawney Pennsylvania is anyway. And no matter what Phil says we are still six weeks from spring.

What does matter though is that we are now one day closer to race season. Relay race season in particular.

I love a good relay race beginning with Red Rock, then Ragnar, and Epic in the late summer. What these three race series have in common is HILLS. And lots of them. To begin to get ready for all those mountainous races I’ve put together this treadmill routine:

Groundhog DayGive it a try. Can you turn those 4’s into 5’s or 6’s? How about those 7’s? Can you turn those into 8’s? Bet you can before spring finally arrives!

Happy Groundhog Day!
